Let’s start this week’s round-up on the east coast, shall we?

If you were hoping to get in a final cruise on the Galactic Starcruiser, unfortunately you are out of luck. Every voyage has now been sold out.

It was announced that there will be a Little Golden Book featuring Figment coming out in January 2024. Is this critical news information? No. But as I have had a love for Figment since 1987, you will hear about this. Both Figment and I turn 40 this year. What a time to be alive folks.

The final 50th anniversary decorations have been removed from the castle. RIP.

As for legal news, the motion to disqualify a judge is still pending. Other cases can commence once that has been addressed. What other cases? Well now it seems that DeSantis is looking to have the case against him Dismissed. Disney has until July 26th to respond. This could go into August folks. It seems that the courts move as quickly as the line did for the Figment popcorn bucket. (Sorry, I hope I didn’t retraumatise some of you).

Out west it was announced that the Fantasmic! show in Disneyland will stay closed through Labor Day, possibly longer. Soarin’ now has a single rider lane! Red Rose Taverne is undergoing a refurbishment.

Do you like Lego? I do. Love Lego. Disney does too. They recreated Mickey’s float from the Magic Happens parade. Based on how long it took me to put together my Lego sets I can say that this took a LONG time. I tip my (Mickey Magic) hat to the designer and builder, Pete Donne.

Big entertainment news: the new live action remake of The Little Mermaid was released to theaters Thursday the 25th. I saw it that night. It is very close to the original with a few changes, similar to how they handled Beauty & The Beast.

Now for some cruise news: DCL celebrate’s its 25th anniversary this summer. Celebrations of the Silver Anniversary are underway but it was announced that not every sailing going to the Bahamas/Caribbean/Mediterranean will have the special fireworks show.

Sadly it was announced that Ray Stevenson, an actor who portrayed one of Thor’s friends in his films as well as doing voice-acting work for both Star Wars Rebels and Clone Wars has died. Looking over his IMDB I can say that I knew him best as Blackbeard from the outrageously wonderful (but short lived) show Black Sails. He was 58.
