July 2 - July 8

It’s Independence Day (week) y’all! Just look at the post photo (which I found on the @disneyparks Instagram feed). If, like me, you weren’t able to see the Disney fireworks show in person then here are some places where you can see the shows online.

The West Coast is where it’s at right now, thanks to the premier of the Rogers: The Musical. I saw a video of most of it on YouTube; it was a preview show that was attended to by Ordinary Adventures. It looks great. I saw the scenes in the Falcon show and it just screamed “make this in real life” and is yet one more draw for me to go to Disneyland. Here is a photo of part of the cast from Jonathan (AKA @jaytasmic on Instagram). He’s my favorite west coast parks photographer so make sure to check out his work.

I could do this all day! (Someone please stop me).

Rogers is only around for the summer so make sure you get your ticket now. This week’s podcast episode of Mousetalgia Fastpass is a great resource for whether or not to get the premier seating. TLDR: it is. You get a meet-and-greet and photo with a cast member, a special popcorn bucket with popcorn, the chance to pick your seat…so yeah, it’s worth the extra $30. There is a virtual queue but Mousetalgia recommended getting there at least 45 min in advance to get in line to get a decent seat. Still listen to the podcast though. They have a lot of great information, this week especially surrounding Rogers: The Musical.

It may seem early to be talking about Halloween but 1. Target already has some fall items out in the Dollar Spot and 2. Disneyland sold Oogie Boogie tickets.

Well, they tried to.

In case you didn’t hear, there were issues almost as soon as the queue was opened to buy tickets. People were in line for hours to buy tickets only to have Disney in the afternoon state that there were technical issues and they were having to pause sales. If anyone did manage to get a ticket, they would be honored, but sales would not resume until the 6th. Then, on July 6, Disney announced that there were still issues and would not be able to sell tickets until July 11th. I’ll keep you updated as to whether or not there are more delays.

There are also more ride closures on the west coast including Alice and Soarin’.

On the east coast another new spot is open at EPCOT. This time it’s a refurbishment station.

That’s it. That’s all there is for the east coast.

But over in Paris The Nautilus ride at Disneyland Paris has reopened after a 2 year (!) refurbishment. Fans have already started to report some disappointment as what was one a physical animatronic or puppet of the giant squid is now just a tv screen.

I can’t do this all day y’all. I have to go and eat dinner. But look! I got this out a day early AND I got caught up on the past few weeks that I’ve missed. Hopefully you read through it and find some interesting tid bits of info. At the very least my inbox is happier.

Until next time!
